大學英語六級考試（又稱CET-6，全稱為“College English Test-6”）是由國家統一出題的，統一收費，統一組織考試，用來評定應試人英語能力的全國性的考試，每年各舉行兩次 。
大學英語六級考試作為一項全國性的教學考試由“國家教育部高教司”主辦，每年各舉行兩次 。從2005年1月起，成績滿分為710分，凡考試成績在220分以上的考生，由國家教育部高教司委托“全國大學英語六級考試委員會”發給成績單 。
2007年1月起，六級考試不再接受非在校生報名 。
