埃菲爾鐵塔的英文簡介The Eiffel Tower stands on the south side of the Seine River in the Champ de Mars in Paris, France. It was built in 1889 and was the tallest building in the world at the time. The Eiffel Tower was named after the famous architect and structural engineer Gustav Eiffel, who was built by Schneider Iron.

later King Edward VII of England,
opened the tower.
Of the 700 proposals submitted
in a design competition,

However it was not accepted
by all at first,
and a petition of 300 names - including
those of Maupassant,
Emile Zola,
Charles Garnier
(architect of the Opéra Garnier),
and Dumas the Younger -
